REST was inspired by the desire to take a break during the midst of daily work, a tribute to the pause we rarely allow ourselves. I used the word “REST” as a typographical structure to build the furniture set: two chairs, a side table, and a backrest. I wrestled with a variety of typefaces and combinations to achieve the maximal culmination of comfortability and aesthetics. Elements of letterforms were adapted to communicate both form and function.
